Payment

Payment is due at the time of your appointment, unless prior arrangements have been made. Currently, I accept all major credit cards

A good faith estimate of expected charges is available upon scheduling or upon your request.

Insurance

I am private pay only. I do not accept or bill insurance directly, including Medicare.  I am considered an out-of-network provider by some insurance companies. This means that many of my clients with insurance coverage are eligible to be reimbursed a significant portion of my fee. However, it is your responsibility to check coverage with your insurance company if you wish to seek out-of-network benefits.

If you would like to use your health insurance benefits for our work together, you will need to pay the full fee at the time of our session, and I will then provide you with a detailed Superbill receipt that includes a diagnosis that you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Many of my clients prefer to work with a therapist outside of their insurance plan, as it offers several benefits:

• You enjoy a much greater degree of privacy and confidentiality, as I am not required to share any personal information, treatment plans, session notes, or any other details of our work together with an insurance company.
• You don’t have to be given an official diagnosis (which an insurance company will require), and if you are given a diagnosis, that information will remain private and confidential. If you do use insurance, your mental health diagnosis, as well as our work together, becomes part of your permanent medical record.
• You are not limited to a certain number of sessions, or treatment protocols, by an insurance company. We decide the treatment methods we will use together—as well as the length of treatment—rather than having these decisions made by a third party.
